Fifty years after the Studio Glass movement began in the United States, GLASS: The UrbanGlass Art Quarterly is publishing a list of the top 50 artists who’ve worked with glass whose work will remain relevant for the next half-century. The centerpiece of this upcoming issue is a special feature titled “50 at 50,” in which our jury of top curators and critics voted on whose work makes the cut. Can you name the top ten who will appear on our list that will be published in our next issue, on newsstands June 1, 2012? Correctly identify the top 10 artists in the same order as our judges and you will win a two-year subscription to GLASS Quarterly! Get the names right in any order and win a year of GLASS Quarterly.
The judges were Annie Buckley, art critic; William Ganis, contributing editor to GLASS, art history professor, Wells College; Victoria Josslin, contributing editor to GLASS; Tina Oldknow, curator, Corning Museum of Glass; Andrew Page, editor of GLASS; Jutta-Annette Page, curator, Toledo Museum of Art; William Warmus, contributing editor to GLASS, art appraiser; Lilly Wei, art critic; James Yood, contributing editor to GLASS, head of the New Arts Journalism program at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
